Williams GAP Survival Tips
It's not a secret that this is a special family. But what comes with a special family comes with special rules for certain things. Such as Left Hand Give, The Gum Bag Game, and The Famous Williams Skate. Below you'll find videos and tips on how to play these games at the GAP.
Skate March
1. While you can Williams Skate March to any music, we always skate to Salsoul Christmas. Particularly "Little Drummer Boy" or "Christmas Medley".
2. Your right-hand touches the shoulder of the person in front of you.
3. Your left hand is holding on to the hand that's two people behind you.
4. Follow the rhythm of the music accordingly.
5. Pay attention to the leader (the very first person at the beginning of the line).
6. Don't break the line and try to keep up!
"Left-Hand Give"
Created by the Siblings
Rules to the Game:
1. You must be pinky-locked in. But be careful, once you lock in...it's FOR LIFE! You have to be pinky-in with everyone you want to play with.
2. If food (of any kind) is in your left hand and you hear "LEFT HAND GIVE" that means you have to give your food to them. However...
3. If you say "No Left Hand Give" BEFORE someone calls it, then you're safe! The key to this rule is that you have to have a witness who heard you say it.
4. No one is allowed to call "Left Hand Give" on dinner. Everything else is up for grabs!
5. The person who calls "Left Hand Give" (the one taking the food) is allowed to do anything they want. They can eat it, give it back, give it to someone else, etc.
Practice before you get to the GAP!
Gum Bag Game
Rules to the Game:
1. Two teams are lined up, facing each other.
2. Each team receives a brown paper bag with gum and two gardening gloves inside.
3. Each person on the team has to open the bag, put on the gloves, take ONE piece of gum, eat the gum, put the wrapper and the gloves back in the bag, and roll up the bag (keep it on the floor) and pass it to the next person.
4. The bag must remain on the floor at all times.
5. Every team member must be seated the whole time.
6. After the last person finishes, the bag must be passed down the line to the first person.
7. The team whose bag makes it to the front first wins the game!
